CTS: A History of Innovation and Stability
Our roots go back to 1990 when Carl Roberts created a niche company to help travel agencies collect commissions they were leaving on the table. A lot has changed in our industry since then – and continues to change. At each step of our journey, we have adapted. For example as airline commissions ebbed, CTS showed agencies how they could mine for hotel commissions. In fact, CTS developed a total turn-key process that included data collection, reconciliation, and reporting that became the model to drive revenue and profitability for TMCs.
While collections are still part of our offering, we use sophisticated data management, bookings reconciliation and hotel normalization techniques to get the job done. Our staff has gone from a handful of people to nearly 40.
We continue to look at market trends and to lead the industry by introducing new innovative services that allow our clients to manage more efficiently and win new business.
Some milestones that we are proud of:
- For the past 15 years, we have increased our business every year, even though we have not had a single pricing increase during this period.
- We are so confident of the value that we provide to our clients that we continue to offer a straight 30 day opt-out contract. Very few of our customers have ever chosen this option.
- After 9/11, when the travel industry experienced an unprecedented retrenchment, we were showing customers how to better manage their business and make every dollar count. The result was that many agencies added more services & infrastructure to be customer service oriented and cost conscious.
